U18 Boys Tryout-Team information

Wasatch is planning on having three BU18 teams for Fall 2015 Spring 2016

Wasatch Elite - P2 team coached by Will Rader
This team will follow the training program of a collegiate program to ensure that the players are prepared to play at the next level. Players are expected to attend 85% of all training sessions. Summer training will be twice a week, a third day scrimmage, plus two days of additional homework/match analysis that all players will be required to turn in. Prior to tournaments, training 2 hours every day will be expected. Training during state gaming league will be twice a week with approximately two games a week. The training calendar will be created once the players are identified and selected and take into account work schedules as best it can. The calendar will be published from June - February, with a break in December so that you know what to expect.

Coach Rader is currently the Head Coach of the 6 Time National Champion Weber State University Men's Soccer Program. Coach Rader has coached many State Championship teams and most recently won the USYS National Presidents Cup Championship at the youth level for Wasatch Soccer Club.

Wasatch D1 team coached by Colin Heald
This team will be comprised of players that want to play at the highest level possible. The commitment to train and travel will not be as extensive and Sunday play will not be required. If there are players that are striving to play collegiately in this bracket, mentoring will be provided.

Wasatch BU18/19 team - coach TBD
This team will also be comprised of players that want to play at the highest level possible. The commitment to travel will be determined by the team and Sunday play will not be required. The intent of this team is to allow an avenue for our U19 players that are still in high school to play competitively their senior year with other motivated U18 players. This bracket gives us a little bit of flexibility because teams in this division will most likely be “new” teams, meaning that they do not have roster continuity with a team from last year. Typically the Competition Comte can create a bracket like this in the U18 age bracket because it only exists for one season in the Fall U18. If you have interest in this team or have questions, please contact Tracy Proulx @ proulxcrew@me.com. If there are players that are striving to play collegiately in this bracket, mentoring will be provided.

Training as a U18 Unit
Collectively the U18 age division will train at least once a week together with Will Rader. Each team will have their own mandatory practices. A group schedule will be published so that motivated players can attend additional training sessions as their schedule allows. The Club Pass will be utilized in the age group to ensure that teams have adequate coverage for each game and that players have the opportunity to develop to their greatest potential.

Personal Conflicts due July 25th
Each player will be required to provide any personal conflict dates to their team manager no later than July 25th so that the team playing schedule can be coordinated to minimize conflicts. This means doing the necessary planning to decide what ACT/SAT tests to sign up for, identifying key school events, religious activities and/or any family/personal days that might potentially conflict with state gaming league games between Aug 18-Oct 31st. Once the state gaming league schedule is published Aug 6th, players are expected to work around team games. This could be but not limited to day dates for school dances. With thought and preparation, we should be able to mitigate conflicts and choose additional activities that allow everyone a memorable Senior Year AND a quality TEAM experience. In a TEAM everyone matters. So never think that whether you show for a game or not doesn’t really matter. It does matter and our Wasatch teams are formed with the idea that each player contributes to the overall success of the team.
